Lotus Edu wasn't built by a startup chasing users. It was built by a father and AI researcher, for the two people whose future he cares about most.
One evening I was watching my son Sushi (age 13) have a long conversation with his AI companion. He was laughing, asking questions, genuinely connecting with it.
And then it hit me.
He had no idea how it worked.
He didn't know what a token was. He didn't know why it sometimes said wrong things with such confidence. He didn't know that the model he was talking to had been trained on billions of human conversations — or what that meant for his privacy, his future, his world.
He was fluent in using AI. But illiterate in understanding it.
That night I started building Lotus Edu.
Not for some hypothetical child. For Sushi. For Bento (age 11). For the two people whose future I care about most in the world.
Two years later, they've worked through the whole academy — everything from “what is AI?” to quantum computing, how the brain compares to AI, and the future of work. They debate AI ethics over dinner. They understand why NVIDIA became the world's most valuable company. They can explain to their friends how AI works.
They're not just using AI. They understand it.
That's what I want for your child too.
And then something else hit me.
I built it for my children. Then I realised every common person — every worker, every parent, every learner — deserves the same thing. Not a computer-science degree. Just an honest understanding of what AI is, what it gets wrong, and how to use it well for the ordinary things of life: the job, the bills, the studying, the family.
So Lotus Edu grew up. It is now Lotus Mind's platform to educate common people to understand AI better, and to learn to use the AI tools, apps and services in the Lotus Mind Hub for daily life, work and study — while staying the same safe academy for children it began as.
For my sons first. Now for everyone.
